Going from a speed stance and breaking down into a power stance is not a natural movement. For your return teams to be successful, the speed to power technique needs to be drilled consistently.

There are two intentions in football:

   Create contact: Blocker or Tackler
   Avoid contact: Ball Carrier or a Tackler in Space

The junction point is where the stances and intentions meet.

The players' technique is what will win at the junction point.

At the junction point, a blocker is battling to maintain leverage by keeping a high shoulder, and a defender is working to defeat it.
