Tony Annese, Head Coach, Ferris State likes to use the Quarterback Draw on first down and early in the game to slow down the pass rush.

The complete lesson that the video below is from is QB Draw in the Multi-Option Spread System on Glazier Drive.   There are 28 lessons in the The Multi-Option Spread System series.

Coach Annese believes that quarterback draw is the best way to improve the pass protection effectiveness of your offensive line.

He does not save quarterback draw to run on 3rd and long.  He likes to run it on 1st and 10.

The perimeter players run pass routes.  They have QB Draw as a tag in some of their pass plays.

He stopped giving the QB the RPO for draw.  He feels that if you give him the option, the quarterback will think that you want him to pass.

QB Draw Quarterback Fundamentals

If there is no play action then you take a 3 step drop and pause a beat and then run vertical making sure to pick up your second level blocks. If there is an alley defender we need to influence then make sure to look him off on your drop and during your pause. If there is play action then use the play action first and then go through all of the steps you normally would.
