Ferris State Head Coach Tony Annese's philosophy is to attack ALL of the open spaces on the field. He likes to use the entire field sideline to sideline and goal to goal and make a defense react to the ball being put in open space.
The video below is a portion of his Glazier Drive lesson on Using Formations & Motions to Create an Edge in the Multi-Option Spread System. It is one part of his entire Multi-Option Spread System.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
Attack ALL of the open spaces on the field. Use the entire field sideline to sideline and goal to goal and make a defense react to the ball being put in open space.
Don't be afraid to attack the vulnerabilities even if that means putting the ball on the boundary perimeter.
Be a box counter and know when to attack the box and when to attack the perimeter.
Many times teams that play with a fast pace do not like motion. For Ferris State, it gives them an extra blocker and creates an imbalance. It also triggers some type of movement from the defense.
