University of St. Thomas Offensive Coordinator (2023 Division III Offensive Coordinator of the year) Caleb Corrill shows how they run their "Goof" concept.  It allows the quarterback and the receivers to make decisions based on the defense's post snap reactions.

The video is taken from the Glazier Drive clinic The "Goof" Passing Concept: A Variation to Smash out of a Multiple Spread Offense

This is a safe option concept.

The ultimate goal is to take the free space that the defense makes available with their post snap reactions.

The teaching progression is the base version of smash, the variations of smash, and then the Goof concept.

The first smash allows the slot receiver to have the options between a corner route, an inside fade that could bend back to a seam, and then the corner post route that brings it back into the middle.
