Get the Ball to Your Playmakers on the Perimeter with This Run-Screen Option - Josh Niblett

This run screen option concept is great for countering boundary reduction defenses or for getting the ball into your playmakers hands on the perimeter.

The video below is taken from Coach Josh Niblett's, Head Coach at Gainesville (GA) High School, 22 video series on his Offensive System on Glazier Drive.  Coach Niblett is a seven time state champion coach.

They we'll add a tag to what they do based on what they face with different opponents.

Coach Niblett wants it to be a full flow run.  You could run it off of motion with a short pin and pull to the field.

The objective of the play is to get an outside run to the field with the option of a tunnel screen to the boundary.

The quarterback is reading the flat defender or the nickle.  He is looking for anything that could disrupt the tunnel screen.

If the qb feels that flat defender is tighter into the box and that he can be outflanked, he'll ride the run fake and then get the ball out. If he feels that the tunnel screen will get blown up or that the defense has numbers, then he'll make the handoff.
